Roger Hampson, Reddish Spinning Mill

Notes

Reddish Spinning Mill, unlike many of the mills painted by Hampson, is still standing. Actually known as Broadstone Mill, it was built in 1907 as a cotton-spinning mill, but lasted in operation only until 1957, and parts were subsequently demolished. The mill has been repurposed, and contained within it is now the Broadstone Mill Shopping Outlet, part of the overall Houldsworth Village redevelopment in that part of town.
