Michael was born in Lancashire and studied art and design at Bishop Rawstorne, he also studied A-Level fine art and portraiture at Runshaw College. He then moved on to further education at Blackburn College, doing city and guilds in life drawing.
Michael has had a rapid rise to success in the last few years and is becoming one of the North West’s foremost artists in Landscape painting. His paintings have received many awards including becoming a finalist in the International Artist Magazine competition, winner of the Harris Open Exhibition and winner of the Frank Herring Easel Award 2017 at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
His works have been featured in the International Artist Magazine and International Art Market Magazine
He is a member of the prestigious Manchester Academy of Fine Art, whose past members include L.S Lowry and Theodore Major.
